I think so many of us get so busy with the other "stuff" in our lives that we don't take enough time for the more important things in life - things like doing God's Will and being obedient to Him! If this is a "poke" (as Debi put it) from the Holy Spirit, then maybe some time should be put aside each week or even every other week to do some reaching out. With us that have the schedules to follow - maybe it could be added to your "schedule" and that way it won't be so hard to find time for it. I love your beautiful heart for God! You are such an inspiration to me! Keep on hearing God speak to you, listen to Him, and obey what He's telling you to do. (A good thing for ALL of us!) :)Dianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11308167328593509037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889693108618418753.post-64999853934533332462008-01-16T07:59:00.000-05:002008-01-16T07:59:00.000-05:00A word of encouragement, I have witnessed personal...A word of encouragement, I have witnessed personally your desire to be obedient to this "poking" from the Holy Spirit. You have done this for me on MANY occasions in the past several months, a word, a call, an email, several invites. You are right on track, and I am so thankful for your obedience.
~DebiAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889693108618418753.post-83606014388196012082008-01-15T22:54:00.000-05:002008-01-15T22:54:00.000-05:00Wow - that's a great message Kim. I am guilty of those things too and this is a good reminder to be more intentional about talking to people, calling or visiting. Thanks for passing this on.Marihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06289456727508305342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889693108618418753.post-305555394857710652008-01-15T22:09:00.000-05:002008-01-15T22:09:00.000-05:00I think hospitality is one of my gifts. And I feel for you with Bekah, I feel so bad for those who have to walk alone or sit and eat lunch alone and such.
If you are looking for a chance to practice...I know a few people at a nursing home who would love some one to talk to. I ended up working extra today, because as I was delivering my clothes, people kept on wanting to talk to me. I had the extra time, and my deliveries took twice as long as usual because these dear old ladies just needed someone to talk to them. They'd love a visit! Even if you brought Bekah for a little while, it would brighten up their day.
I think we take for granted how much the little things in life make a difference, even a smile can change someone's day! :)Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11445027825416298116noreply@blogger.com
