TSMSS - Happy dependence day!

On this 4th of July where we celebrate our Independence from England, I want to celebrate my dependence on God! I heard this song yesterday and I think it fits perfectly today!

I have been thinking of the Ebenezer stone from 1 Samuel 7:12 lately. When I googled it the other day it mentioned it being part of this wonderful old song. Here David Crowder puts his unique spin on it (with lyrics below)

This song spoke to me!

Saturday on Then Sings my Soul Saturday Amy had this on her blog! I am not a song writer, but if I could write, this song would be what I would say! Isn't it great how God uses everyone to minister to each other in the way of their gifts. This songwriter has experienced what I have experienced in the way of God's great love and grace. She wrote about it and I could identify with it and say me too! I hope you enjoy this song!

A few years ago I heard Travis Cottrell sing this song at a Beth Moore Conference! It became my life song! I remember seeing Beth worship at the beginning! She was so passionate for her Lord! I said "God I want that!" I think it was during that conference or maybe some other time I heard Beth speak, but she said "If you don't have it pray too!" You know like if you don't have passion for Christ Pray for it! If you don't have a desire to be in the word Pray for it! and so on! God will always answer those prayers in yes, because he wants you to know him and love him, because he loves you! I pray that often! I so desire to grow closer to God! It is a journey and sometimes my selfishness gets in the way, but HE is faithful!

When we sing this song in church I can barely contain my emotions! I am so thankful to Christ for all he has done for me! For the freedom I have through the gift of His life! It is in Christ Alone that true Freedom is found! I also love Travis Cottrell! He has such a powerful voice! I love home he adds the chorus of "Christ the solid rock" too! A couple of weeks ago when I posted a Father's Day tribute to my Dad I mentioned him giving his testimony and quoting "That will be Glory...for me!" I thought I would share that song today!

O that Will Be Glory

When “O That Will Be Glory” first appeared in 1900, a musical expert predicted, “It will never go; it has too many quarter notes.” In other words, ‘the rhythm is too monotonous.”
But in a few years, it was the most popular hymn Homer Rodeheaver led in the Billy Sunday campaigns. It was affectionately called the “glory Song.” It was inspired, not by an experience, but by a personality!
The author, C. H. Gabriel, was perhaps the best known and most prolific gospel song writer of the early twentieth century. One of his good friends was Ed Card, superintendent of the Sunshine Rescue Mission of St. Louis, Missouri. Ed was a radiant believer who always seemed to be “bubbling over” with Christian joy.
During a sermon or a prayer he would often explode with “Glory” just like some people say “Amen!” or “Hallelujah!” His beaming smile earned him the nickname “old glory face.” It was his custom to close her fervent prayers with a reference to heaven, usually ending with the phrase “and that will be glory for me!”
