Then Signs my Soul Saturday! No Words

I was just over at Linda's blog and she had some very sad news to report! A few weeks ago I blogged about a member of Selah losing their daughter at birth! You can read about it here.On May 27th Todd's sister Nichol went to check on her baby boy Luke and found he wasn't breathing! Luke died that night, he was only a couple of months old! My heart just breaks for this family! They have suffered so much in such a short amount of time! Linda has the wonderful song "Press On" on her blog with Nichol and Todd singing! This group has always been an inspiration to me and their music touches my heart! Please, please pray for these families as they walk this road! Here is the song again! It is so fitting! Keep the prize in view!

My Solution to High Gas Prices!!!

Have I ever told you that my husband is a Genius?! Well he is!!!!! With how high gas prices are becoming I decided that this summer if I needed to go to the store or if we went to the library, or anywhere around town I would use my bike! I started looking for baskets on the Internet and they all seemed to be way more then I wanted to spend. In the area of $30 and up! So this past Monday our Memorial Day purchase was a rear bike rack for $17. and a Sterilite container for $4.99

My very handy husband came up with this:

We made it dog worthy, but Champ wasn't thinking it was the best idea and decided to freak out when placed in the box with a hole in the lid! He'll change his tune when he sees us leaving without him this summer!

So go ahead Mr. Opec people, go ahead Mr. Exxon, raise your gas prices, we're ready for ya!

Tomorrow is Kam and my Garage Sale! We sure hope it doesn't rain!!!! Need some moolah for our big CA trip this summer!

Other important news! I cannot believe it but I am just 3 posts away from my 200th post! WOW! Trying to come up with an inexpensive but cool give away! Keep checking back!

Thankful Thursday!

It's been a couple of weeks since I've participated in Thankful Thursday! It's not for lack of things to be Thankful for, God has provided plenty! I've just not been able to bring myself to sit long enough at the computer and put thought to paper! But no more! Here is my list of things I am thankful for today:

• Just one more short week and school will be done!!!! YEAH!!! I can't wait! I love summer and I love having my kids around! Also I don't love making lunches, being on a strick schedule in the morning, homework, etc......


• The day after school is out we head for the Conference grounds! Another yeah! We had so much fun there last year! It is right on the shores of Lake Michigan, they have a pool! Also Bible School for the kids and Bible study for me! Steve will work all week and come out at night. We usually know quite a few people and it's close enough that friends can come visit. So if you live in the area and are out in Grand Haven, spot of by to lot #66!


• I'm thankful for the weekend Kam and I had last weekend! I didn't blog about it, but we had a very relaxing time in Traverse City! That city has so much to offer!


• I am thankful for the prayer warrior's I have praying for me right now! I can sure feel their prayers, and I know that God will bring an answer in His time! Thanks for praying for me guys!


• I'm thankful that the weather is slllooowwllyy getting warmer! Of course I just stepped outside to help Steve with the pool cover and it's a gettin' chilly again! Michigan is so fickle, but I love her!


• I'm thankful that when Bekah didn't get off the bus at our house that she got off at Samantha's and was safe!


• Speaking of above! The pool is open and the green is disappearing! Looking forward to alot of fun times around the pool this summer!


• I'm thankful for my faithful bloggy friends, who have encouraged me the past few weeks! Completely understanding my need for down time! I do love having met all you ladies and so enjoy getting to know you better!


• I have been studying Philippians this past week! What an awesomely encouraging book that Paul wrote! Have you read it lately? I will end with some verses from there!

Memorial Golf Outing Fun!!!

Yesterday was Debi and Tyler's (the friend I mentioned earlier this week) anniversary! They used to go golfing on their anniversary so a bunch of women got together to take Debi golfing! We had shirts made up that said "Tyler Damron Memorial Golf Outing" on the front and "Elvis has left the building" on the back! She was surprised by the shirts! We had alot of fun! Some people said I was a bad golf cart driver, but who would believe that! Here are some pics of the day! Who knows maybe this will become an annual golf outing, just be watching!

Bekah's School Program

Last night we went to Bekah's school program. It was great because Aunt Sandy, Samantha, Erica and Lauren got to come. Here is just a quick picture and video of the night! The kids did a great job singing and playing their recorders! The only down side was all the songs to me had a humanist bent. It's all about what I can do. I heard that word alot "I", "ME"! My husband told me to breathe! There is so much out there that us parents have to speak out against and help our children to know it's not what's in me that makes me good, but WHO! Anyway I would never say anything to Bekah about it! I just complimented her on her wonderful job! Also Jeremiah made the Principals list for the 2nd time this year! He's very proud of that, and so are we!

In Memory of.....

Don't know if I'm officially back or not, but I couldn't let this day go by without remembering our dear friend Tyler who God took home one year ago today! In life and death he touched many! I miss you Tyler! You will always be that infectious 44 year old - 8 year old to me! Thank you for being so passionate about your Lord and for teaching me to go to the Word always!

With Debi's permission I want to share the following that Tyler's brother shared at his funeral. This is so Tyler! For those of you who didn't know him, hopefully this will make you laugh and see why we can smile when we think of this "LARGER THEN LIFE" personality!

Tyler is so happy that his funeral was 2 hours long. He would have wanted it much longer though. In fact, he would prefer that we continued it on into the evening and then followed it up by an "All Tyler Weekend" with a Parade and a Float contest. Tyler I miss you and I'm so proud of where your heart and soul were at during your last days here. God needs you as an Angel to look over a multitude now and not just a few. Your with me always buddy.

Time off and Prayer Requests!

Feeling like I need to take a break for a little bit from blogging! I am taking a much needed rest this weekend (hopefully) to TC for my sister! Looking forward to relaxing and not having a schedule! Life is coming down hard right now, and I feel I just need to chill and spend more time in the Word!

Before I go a few prayer requests if you don't mind:

Pray for Jeremiah (again) - he got in trouble today in school. It always seems like we have issues close to school being out, I don't know, just pray for him and wisdom for Steve and I.

I also just saw in the Obituaries that the daughter of a girl I went to school with passed away this weekend! She is the cousin of a good friend so I called her to find out what happened! This dear sweet child was 23 and a mother of 2. Because of choices she made she did not feel able to deal with life, so she took hers! My heart is breaking for her, that she got so bad, and didn't feel the comfort of the Saviour who loves her, that she thought it just wasn't worth living! Pray for her mom and dad, siblings and all relatives involved! Pray for all our young people who don't feel life is worth living!

Lastly pray for clarity for me! I hope to be back after TC, we'll see! (Sorry Judy!)
