Miley understand this: THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN!

Today I was reading the Parade Magazine, which comes in our Sunday Press. It had Miley Cyrus (oh excuse me Miley Ray) on the cover. I read the article and was taken back first of all by how rude this young lady is, but second and most importantly how her "christianity" is that of the world. Here is the whole article if you care to read it.

“My faith is very important to me,” she says. “But I don’t necessarily define my faith by going to church every Sunday. Because now when I go to church, I feel like it’s a show. There are always cameras outside. I am very spiritual in my own way. Let me make it clear, though—I am a Christian. Jesus is who saved me. He’s what keeps me full and whole. But everyone is entitled to what they believe and what keeps them full. Hopefully, I can influence people and help them follow the same path I am on, but it is not my job to tell people what they are doing wrong.”

Is it hard being openly Christian in Hollywood?

“People are always looking for you to do something that is non-Christian,” she answers. “But it’s like, ‘Dude, Christians don’t live in the dark.’ I have to participate in life. If I wear something revealing, they go, ‘Well, that’s not Christian.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m going to go to hell because I’m wearing a pair of really short white shorts.’ Suddenly I’m a slut. That’s so old-school.” (This is still part of the quote, I don't know why it's not green)

How sad it is that people will read this and agree. "Let those people believe the way they want to believe. Sure I wish that they believed like I did, but who am I to tell them they are wrong?"

Let's see:
  1. Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost (Luke 19:10)
  2. He has called us to make disciples (Matthew 28:19)
  3. He has called us to preach the gospel (Mark 16:15)
So why is she saying it's not her job. If she is a "true" Christ follower, it is her job; she signed up when she accepted Christ as her savior. None (and I mean none) of us get to say we have not been given a job to do by Christ. Not that the works saves us, but just by process of our relationship with Christ we are called out; we are a people set apart (sanctified); we are a Royal Priesthood!

I am about to type something that will shock some, but it is the TRUTH, and it needs to be said. If anyone, ANYONE believes there are other ways to heaven except through JESUS CHRIST, AND HIM CRUCIFIED, then they CANNOT (I cannot stress this enough) be a true follower of Christ. Christ himself says "I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, NO ONE comes to the Father EXCEPT THROUGH ME. John 14:6.

His words, not mine. Miley you need to take a good hard look at THE BOOK. Stop falling for this fallen worlds philosophies! The potential you have to do great things for Christ are being ruined (that is if you truly are a follower of THE CHRIST).

And girl don't even get me started on: Yeah, I’m going to go to hell because I’m wearing a pair of really short white shorts.’ Suddenly I’m a slut. That’s so old-school. Oh if I were your mother, first of all you wouldn't be wearing those really short white shorts, and I'd tan your hide for calling me dude so much!!!! Now that my friend is old-school, and I'm proud of it!

You go Kim! I'm all for the "old school" way of thinking.
As for Miley - I missed that article but you've got the perfect rebuttal to what she said.

I usually don't read the Parade but did open it to that article earlier today. I kinda shook my head at her comments. I wonder how many in the world agree with her ideas and view their "spirituality" that way. I've heard that lately, "I'm a spiritual person." It's about relationship to me.

Amen Sister! I love God's Truth!

May the Lord shine the light of His Truth on our deceived world! It is hardest to be a Christ follower around people who claim to be Christians but who love the world. May their eyes land on 1John 2:15-17 and may they understand the need to repent.

I read the article and it made me sad. And a bit amused that at the ripe old age of 17 she is so settled with herself! "I know who I am now and am so content and full of purpose." Didn't we all think that!

Looking at the pics that were on the Parade site, it's obvious she doesn't realize that her posing certain ways just reinforces the view she says she doesn't want folks to have of her.

Amen, Kim, regarding the Truth of Jesus!

Kim,

That is so sad and the even sadder thing is how many people read it and agree with her.

We live in some hard times and scary times are coming. We have to know WHO we are in CHRIST and be diligent about spreading the truth of the gospel to everyone!

Thanks for this great message.

AMEN!!! There's alot of compromise in the Christian world today and it's SOOOOO important to walk closely with our Lord and to really understand what Jesus says throughout the New Testament.

I suggest that we pray for Miley and young people like her that the Spirit will open her mind and change some of her thinking. Remember she is young - God is not thru with her yet anymore than He is thru with me. Each day we live is a day to become more in touch with our Lord.

Don't we all want to help people understand what it mean s to follow Christ. When she's saying everyone is entitled to what they believe, that's true. She didn't say they all lead to heaven. She's trying to be an example, which we all strive for and her choosing to wear short shorts or dancing with a pole may be bad choices,it doesn't mean she isn't who she claims to be.Her choices may be do to her age, she's 17 not 40+.How far do any of us get when we point out to unbelievers that they are wrong. They need Christ before they can see the error in there ways. I don't think we ever "arrive" and make the right decisions know matter what our age. We really need to pray our children through the age of finding themselves and living their own faith and not just saying and doing what there parents want them to. We're all a work in progress. And young people definately shouldn't look to Hollywood for spiritual role models. Just some of my thoughts, Kim, you told me to comment :) Patty

Oh I love your response! I read this article and thought many of the same things. Very sad indeed. May we remember to pray for our young people today and the future of our nation...not to mention our faith.

Thanks for speaking so boldly!

Sad that so many others are "in the same boat". Sounds like Miley needs our prayers for sure...and so do all the young girls that fall on her every word. What great insights, Kim! Thanks for sharing this. Blessed by your blog today. :)

Good Morning Kim and Happy Easter Sweetie...
I am your newest follower. I found you this morning while blog hopping on Easter. (how appropriate).

I loved your post today. Yes Miley could be leading these young girls who idolize her in a good direction on a great path. Usually with kids, you take a look at the parents and what they allow these kids to do. They are still in control, she is still a minor. Yes she has spoken, but I believe for her young age her parents have given her way to many freedoms. I have read where she dates a guy much older than her, over 21 and her being only 17, I totally disagree. I will be praying for her. She has a lot of her beliefs all mixed up. God Bless Her. Children need "GOOD" role models to follow.

Well sweetie I am off my soap box now. I just had to add my two cents worth.

Happy Easter sweetie to you and your family. Please stop by and say hi. I would be so honored if you signed up to follow my blog as well.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
