The Millennial Temple

I have been reading in Ezekiel 40-46 this last week and 1/2. Ezekiel is having a vision where a temple is being described and measure by a man with a measuring rod. Ezekiel also sees God's presence re-enter the temple after leaving it in the first couple of chapters of Ezekiel. What an awesome experience it must have been to see God's holy presence come back to His temple. It mentions this in:

Ezekiel 43:1-5

Then the man brought me to the gate facing east, and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory. The vision I saw was like the vision I had seen when he came to destroy the city and like the visions I had seen by the Kebar River, and I fell face down. The glory of the LORD entered the temple through the gate facing east. Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.

Can you just imagine!!! What an experience!

I needed to get a visual of this temple. It is not the same temple that Solomon built, or that Nehemiah built. It is a different temple that will be constructed once Israel is back home. Here is a model someone made of the temple to scale.

This temple is yet to be built! Isn't that great! It is truly amazing!

I loved looking up pictures like this when I was leading an OT study a few years ago. I still have a picture of the altars with horns on the corners in my mind -- as well as the breastplate that the high priests wore.

What an awesome sight to have witnessed -- God's presence filling the temple.

Thanks for sharing this.

Love,
Beth
