Thankful Thursday!

Isaiah 30:18 & 19
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you;
he rises to show you compassion.
For the LORD is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!
19 O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem,
you will weep no more.
How gracious he will be when you cry for help!
As soon as he hears, he will answer you.
God is so good! Often in my busy, busy weeks I tend to misplace that information! I get bogged down in the process of life that I am left discontented and wondering why I do not hear God speak to me! It's not that he isn't speaking, I am not hearing or seeing! It is all from my end! I do not take adequate time to be with him, to read his word, and pray! To spend quality time alone just him and me. Like I mentioned in my previous post, he met us women today and blessed us! There were times at the beginning where I felt I was not prepared! It seemed like others were so much more in tuned to God then I was! But I realized I was comparing myself to them and God showed me that I needed to repent of that and other things! Like I said in my previous post, I left there feeling as light as a feather! Oh to keep that on the forefront of my mind always! I am so glad that he is Gracious though, aren't you?!!!

Well another week of Thankfulness is upon us! Reviewing the past week there is so much to be thankful for:
  • I am thankful for a wonderful time away. We all had a wonderful time of camping!
  • I'm thankful for Godly friends who pray for me and support and encourage me.
  • I'm thankful for my husband, who is a great support and wonderful father and provider.
  • I'm thankful his job is going better and that he feels better about things.
  • I'm thankful that he is involved in a Bible study with me from other churches and is growing in his faith.
  • I am thankful for God's word and that it is alive and active, and speaks to every situation!
  • I am thankful for the opportunity to be used by God to do things for his kingdom!
  • I am thankful that he is patient and merciful and does not give us what we deserve!
  • I am thankful for his wonderful creation, especially the little bitty bunnies Champ found in the back yard! He now needs to be monitored outside until they are old enough to move!
  • I am thankful for that silly little puppy who makes a beeline for the hole every time I put him out, but as soon as I say no, no he leaves them alone! He is a very smart miniature white rabbit! BTW we tell him they are turtles. We are thoroughly confusing him!!!! It's so much fun!!!!!!

What are you thankful for this week! Take a look and see what God has done for you, then go and check out the other thankful bloggy sisters at Sting my Heart!

First of all, I will tell you again how thankful I am for you and for all your wonderful and inspired (because you know who enables you) work you do in Children's Ministry! You are such a blessing to our church and to so many parents - they might not even know how much of a blessing you are! God is using you in a huge way for His smallest disciples! Keep up the awesome work and I will continue to uphold you in prayer and by serving beside you!

Secondly, regarding Champ, do you really wonder why he is the way he is when you tell him bunnies are turtles??? You are not helping his psycotic tendencies! ;-)

Kim,

When we're tuned in to God and where we should be, it's always better. How come we forget that at times.

Very good message!

Thanks for sharing!
Cheryl

You're truly right, God truly does speak to us but it's us who sometimes don't hear as we're too busy being a mom, a wife and fail to be a child and hear our Father's call. Thanks for this great reminder.

You've got a great list!!

God bless!

It sounds like your Bible study has been a huge blessing already. God's Word has a way of lifting us up off our feet and giving us wings!

I am thankful that God is patient with us as we get busy and don't hear His voice in our daily lives. I do this more than I care to admit... thank goodness for God's faithfulness!

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Your last point totally made me smile :)
We do often make the mistake that we compare our walk with the walk of other women. Although it is sometimes hard to find time to be with Him - I started to be creative with spending time with Him. I listen to sermons, devotions, Bible studies during the week at work...I use the time in the car to just worship Him...Like I said - it is not easy. I am glad though that you were lighter after the meeting :)

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us.

Blessings to you and your precious family.

Boy, do i ever have that problem of comparing myself to others at times. I know I have to repent too much. Why is it that He is able to see the good but when we look into the mirror we see all the junk. That is until we hear Him saying "I created you for My Glory" And as we all know, God does not, did not make junk. Thanks for reminding me to stop doing that and to take the time to hear that still small voice of the Lord.
Be blessed,
Stacy
