Blogging Hiatus

As you can see the last time I posted was Wednesday. I have been feeling this week that it is time for a blogging hiatus! At this point I don't know when I will start back up. Maybe a week, two or longer! I just feel lately that blogging takes up far to much of my time! I have enjoyed so much getting to know all of you, and I hope that every time you visited you were blessed in some way! When and if I do return, it has to be because I have something on my mind, and the counter has to be gone! I find that I look to that to often, trying to see how many people have visited. It seems to be that same issue of wanting to know if people LIKE me or not, and I don't want blogging to become that.

So thank you so much for the year of fun, growth in the Lord and new relationships! I have met and got to know better some pretty amazing ladies!!!!

God Bless you all, and I'll leave you with the blessing I often bless my kids with!

May the Lord bless you and keep you
May he make his face to shine upon you
and be gracious to you!
May he turn his face toward you and
give you peace!

A busy Weekend!

Saturday was a very busy, but fun day for Bekah and myself. In the morning she had 4th grade Science Olympiad at 9:00. She was doing the egg drop with a classmate. This is where you try to fashion a container to hold and protect on egg from breaking at a height of about 7 feet. Bekah's egg did not make the fall, so they got honorable mention, which was just fine with her! She just had fun!

In between the competition and awards ceremony we had a little fun! Bekah has wanted to cut her hair for kids through Locks for Love for quite sometime! We were trying to grow it out because parts of it were just at 10 inches. So off we went to the Beauty Salon! Check out the new look!

Here is the new look with her ribbon! Then after the competition we were off to see High School Musical 3!

We had a very fun girls day out, and boy was DAD surprised to see his little Peanut when we got home!

I think she looks AWESOME! Don't you?!

This song spoke to me!

Saturday on Then Sings my Soul Saturday Amy had this on her blog! I am not a song writer, but if I could write, this song would be what I would say! Isn't it great how God uses everyone to minister to each other in the way of their gifts. This songwriter has experienced what I have experienced in the way of God's great love and grace. She wrote about it and I could identify with it and say me too! I hope you enjoy this song!

Grace by Laura Story
My heart is so proud. My mind is so unfocused.
I see the things You do through me as great things I have done.
And now You gently break me, then lovingly You take me and hold me as my
Father and mold me as my maker.
Chorus
I ask you: "How many times will you pick me up, when I keep on letting you down? And each time I fall short of Your glory, how far will forgiveness abound?"
And You answer: "My child, I love you. And as long as you're seeking my face, You'll walk in the power of my daily sufficient grace."

At times I may grow weak and feel a bit discouraged, knowing that someone, somewhere could do a better job. For who am I to serve You? I know I don't deserve you. And that's the part that burns in my heart and keeps me hanging on.
Chorus

You are so patient with me Lord.
As I walk with You, I'm learning what your grace really means. The price that I could never pay was paid at Calvary. So, instead of trying to repay you, I'm learning to simply obey You by giving up my life to you for all that You've given to me.
Chorus

Super Sunday Scene & Scripture!

Psalm 148
1 Praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD from the heavens,

praise him in the heights above.
2 Praise him, all his angels,

praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
3 Praise him, sun and moon,

praise him, all you shining stars.
4 Praise him, you highest heavens

and you waters above the skies.
5 Let them praise the name of the LORD,

for he commanded and they were created.
6 He set them in place for ever and ever;
he gave a decree that will never pass away.
7 Praise the LORD from the earth,
you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, 8 lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
stormy winds that do his bidding,
9 you mountains and all hills,

fruit trees and all cedars,

10 wild animals and all cattle,

small creatures and flying birds,

11 kings of the earth and all nations,

you princes and all rulers on earth,
12 young men and maidens,

old men and children.
13 Let them praise the name of the LORD,
for his name alone is exalted;
his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.
14 He has raised up for his people a horn,
the praise of all his saints,
of Israel, the people close to his heart.
Praise the LORD.

Then Sings my Soul Saturday!

My mother mentioned this song to me last Friday. I thought it would be perfect for Then sings my Soul Saturday!

In times like these you need a Savior

In times like these you need an anchor;

Be very sure, be very sure Your anchor holds

and grips the Solid Rock!

Chorus This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He's the One;

This Rock is Jesus, the only One!

Be very sure, be very sure

Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

In times like these you need the Bible,

In times like these O be not idle;

Be very sure, be very sure

Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

Chorus This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He's the One;

This Rock is Jesus, the only One!

Be very sure, be very sure

Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

In times like these I have a Savior,

In times like these I have an anchor;

I'm very sure, I'm very sure

My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

Chorus This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He's the One;

This Rock is Jesus, the only One!

Be very sure, be very sure

Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

Thankful Thursday

Ephesians 5:19 & 20

Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:5-7

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

There is much to be thankful for this week, all present in the Father, who knows all and sees all!
  • I am thankful that God is sovereign and in control.
  • I am thankful that I can rest in Him, knowing that.
  • I am thankful that God is TRUTH! There is absolute TRUTH in our world through him, even though the world may try to tell us differently! Only in Him is real truth found!
  • I am thankful for the beautiful fall weather we have had this week. It's been perfect
  • I am thankful for the book of Ezekiel which I am studying right now! God has much to say to us! May we not be as stubborn and hardheaded as the Israelites!
  • I am thankful the the 13 very talkative girls I have on Wednesday night! Boy Howdy get 15 females in a room for 1 hour and with all that talking it gets quite hot in there! They definitely keep me on my toes, but a blessing none the less!
  • I am thankful my husband is no longer on 3rd shift this week. He has had a hard week of working weird shifts!
  • I am also thankful for his job! So many people have lost their jobs or may lose their jobs and it's just heartbreaking! We need to be so thankful for what we have!

What are you thankful for this week! Join others over at Sting my heart!

The other Baldwin!

Tonya at Safe in His Arms had this on her blog for Then Sings my soul Saturday! I have never heard Steven Baldwins testimony before, but on this day after the election, when his big brother is probably celebrating and being obnoxious this is worth the watch!

Have a great day and keep looking up and leaning on!

CHANGE! UGH!!!

I'm sure you've heard this cry before from me, and I am so sorry that lately I have lamented alot on this blog, but hey that is what my blog is about - getting things off my chest and out of my mind, so hold on to your hats I have something to say!!!!!

I HATE CHANGE!!!!!!!!!
Was I clear enough! Now I know that God is in control! Yep know that, trust that, believe that! But does that mean I have to like it?!!! Well if it does I'm a gonner, because I HATE CHANGE!!!
There is a change acoming, and I'm not talking about the election, or the weather, or even the change in my growing older and larger body! If it doesn't come sooner, it will come later, and that just ticks me off! Seriously I know I need help! Someone shouldn't struggle this much with change! I have just been bugged all afternoon!
So what is a person to do?! hummm.... work through it, stomp my feet a little or alot and get over it! Oh how I hope it doesn't take long for me to do that!
I guess I can try to focus on the change I do like:
  • Me growing closer to God and not away
  • My hair color when I get a lowlight/highlight
  • The changes in seasons
  • My weight going down (not that that's happening or anything)
  • When my kids attitudes change from grumpy to peaceful
  • When my attitude changes from grumpy to peaceful
  • When people surprise me and step forward for a task
  • Pocket change for coffee
  • A change in prognosis
  • A positive change in job status
  • Lifes changed because of Christ
  • Families reconciled
  • Night to day
  • Cold to warm

Well I think I've ranted enough! Thanks for listening!

I can identify! Can any of you?!

So yesterday I was reading the comics in the Sunday paper and I came across "ZITS". Now this boy often reminds me of my oldest, and his name just happens to be Jeremy, which is close to Jeremiah. Well I couldn't resist posting this to see if I can get a witness!

Edit: This should be the correct link for the cartoon I was refering too! Thanks Jen and Diane!
Us poor Moms, will we ever get a break!!!!

Satan's Conference - Makes you think

Peggy over at Amazing Grace had this on her blog last week. I thought it was worth posting here.
ENTER IN TO SATAN'S CONFERENCE

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.
In his opening address he said,
'We can't keep Christians from going to church.'
'We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth.'
'We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their Savior.'
'Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken.'
'So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners,
BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ..'
'This is what I want you to do,' said the devil:
'Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!'
'How shall we do this?' his demons shouted.
'Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds,'
he answered.
'Tempt them to
spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow.'
'Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week,
10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles.'
'Keep them from spending time with their children.'
'As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the
pressures of work!'
'Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice.'
'Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive.'
To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their
home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays
non-biblical music constantly.'
'This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ.'
'Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers.'
'Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day.'
'Invade their driving moments with billboards.'
'Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs,
sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free
products, services and false hopes..'
'Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their
husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important,
and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. '
'Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night.'
'Give them headaches too! ' 'If they don't give their husbands the love
they need, they will begin to look elsewhere.'
'That will fragment their families quickly!'
'Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their
children the real meaning of Christmas.'
'Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his
resurrection and power over sin and death.'
'Even in their recreation, let them be excessive.'
'Have them return from their recreation exhausted.'
'Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation.
Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays,
concerts, and movies instead.'
'Keep them busy, busy, busy!'
'And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in
gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences. '
'Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus.'
'Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing
their health and family for the good of the cause.'
'It will work!'
'It will work!'
It was quite a plan!
The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians
everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.
Having little time for their God or their families.
Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.
I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?
You be the judge!!!!!
Does 'BUSY' mean: B-eing U-nder S-atan's Y-oke?
Please pass this on, if you aren't too BUSY

Super Sunday Scene and Scripture!

Lamentations 3: 22-24
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,
for his compassion's never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him."
The kids and I often talked about the sky when I take them to school in the morning. Just last week I spoke of this passage to Jeremiah. Each day is a fresh start. Each day we can begin again. BECAUSE of the LORD'S great love!
