Living Well Wednesday!

Well I am beginning my 2nd week of Living Well! I have to admit I really started yesterday after Easter, at least in the eating area. Steve and I started walking again last week. I feel very good about where I am at mentally and spiritually! I love the articles that Darlene has at the Live Well website. That have helped alot. I read the February Article and it talked about setting goals. I would say that first and foremost I just want to be healthier, that includes a healthier weight! People would be shocked if they really knew how much I weight! I don't think I look like I way that much, at least not clothed. I just don't feel well, and I loved the way I felt when I had lost weight in the past. I had energy, and I loved doing physical things! Not so much right now! My big issue has been longevity, making the lifestyle change! I haven't ever really given complete control over this issue to God! I have to admit I am treading lightly, not expecting to much, but taking little baby steps towards trusting, and letting go! Boy is it hard! But I know that God wants me to be healthy also. He wants us to be good stewards of all He's given us, and well my body is one of his possessions that I need to take care of.

I have started a Journal for both my food intake and for writing down what God is showing me. That is going well, except I left the silly thing at work today! It's a good thing I have to go back tomorrow!

I am also thinking of starting an accountability group at church that meets maybe once a month to encourage each other. Women or men for that matter could come and discuss that God is doing to help them in their struggle. There would be no scale, but coffee, tea, and encouragement!

So that is where I am at today!

God is so Good!

I enjoy the encouraging articles so much! I have really received much freedom from time spent reading and meditating on Darlene's articles and the Word she has brought forth to us!

You may want to check out www.sparkpeople.com for a free and easy method of keeping track of all food. It has helped me in the past to really "see" what I am eating in a day.

Many blessings!

You go girl! Keep giving it ALL to God - something I need to do as well! This is something that sometimes (most of the time) needs to be done many, many times each day! It's when we give up that we fail! God is in every moment and in every corner of your life - we just need to acknowledge Him and include Him in every aspect of our life! :) I love you, sis! I'm right in the battle beside you!

You're right on track with walking, goal setting, journaling and watching your diet. Like you said, consistency is the key! Thanks for encouraging me this morning with your post.

It is so hard isn't it!
I have the same problem- I can do it for awhile, but it's the long term that's the problem.

Yeah, I've got that longevity problem as well!! Which is why I'm really trying to change how I view this whole thing and rather than specifically trying to lose weight, I want to adjust my lifestyle so that I'm treating myself well and viewing my body as a temple rather than a landfill site!!

What a great start you are off to. With me, it is just taking the time to get out there and move. I have a hard time saying no to foods so I would rather walk off the calories instead. I am going to be back in the walking saddle again next week. I will make sure to check up on you and see how you are doing Kim.

Blessings, Joanne

That group idea of yours sounds so good! I hope that something along those lines works out for you.

And hey, we all look heavier without clothes. LOL That's why I love a great outfit, it flatters and conceals. :)

First, thanks for visiting my blog. I'm glad you were encouraged!
Second, I want to encourage you further in your living well goals. I have been working out regularly for the past three months (my hubby opened a personal training studio) and I feel GREAT! I think baby steps and accountability are wonderful things for you to consider. Keep it up!

Well, it sounds like you have a plan. Putting God first, keeping a journal is what has worked for me. I have to admit in the past, I didn't really do that much about letting Go and letting God. I would pray about my weight loss journey and beg for his help but not spend so much time in the word. Doing my devotion and writing verses has helped me. I also have a prayer that I wrote out that I try to read on a regular basis. I ask for forgiveness when I am weak.
I'm looking forward to a good progress report as you go along. I want to be an encourager. That is one of the areas of service that God has given me.

I hope you do well with this. I have been attending "First Place" at our church. The meetings are so wonderful. Lisa "The Preachers Wife" has been doing our Bible Study and I love it. The encouragement is great. I really needed to loose some weight. I did loose but still got more to go. I didn't do it alone, God helped! Have a good evening friend!

Hey Kim...
I bet if we all admitted it...every single one of us struggle in some way or another with Living Well.

I pray for us all! I hope that we can all take care of the bodies He gave us so we can be the women He wants us to be.
