Biggest Loser - Weeks 10, 11, & 12!!!
But enough about that! Last night was our meeting of "The Biggest Loser". It was a small group, but I so appreciate it. I so need the accountability and support this group offers. I so appreciate the dear woman that has committed to us and leads the group. I would like to talk about her for a minute, not gossip, but praise. I have "known" this woman ever since we have gone to this church. Her husband and her have been (to me at least) a quiet fixture of of congregation. We've never talked that much, but I've always liked her and their constant faithfulness. Through this program I have gotten to know her better, and last night (probably because the group was so small), we were able to have a great conversation that I really needed to have last night! I believe it was God appointed! I learned a few answers to questions I always wondered about that pertained to them and their commitment to our particular local body.
So you see this group is more then just about weight loss! It's about relationship. It's a small way of being the body of Christ to one another! So often we try to struggle alone through things. I know I am good at that. But it is through the help of our family (in this case the church family) that we are supported, encouraged, and grow in the Lord.
I want to thank everyone that attends this group for being part of my journey!!

God is not ordinary....
Listen to what it says in:
Do you honestly think that God is O.K. with you using his name in this way AT ALL! I don't think so!Ignorance is no excuse! If you know God, if you have accepted His Son Jesus Christ, then you need to be honestly seeking Him! He never has made a half hearted effort on your behalf, why do you only give him so little!On the same note but a little different - this verse below talks about unwholesome talk. You may be able to explain away why you speak the language you do, but God has given you instructions. You can choose to follow them, or you can choose to disobey them, but remember God is not mocked! He knows the condition of your heart.
THE TETRAGRAMMATON
The Sacred Name appears in the Hebrew Scriptures as four Hebrew letters Yud, hey, vav, hey, which is closest represented by the letters YHVH. This format is known as the Tetragrammaton. According to Jewish tradition it is regarded as 'not to be uttered' in order never to profane it in any way. In Judaism it is therefore pronounced as 'Adonai', meaning 'Lord'. Notwithstanding this prohibition, the Sacred Name is acknowledged in its usage as part of the names of many Biblical characters, as referred to above - and as any Bible concordance or reference book will provide.

Interesting statement
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Some wonderful Awards From wonderful Friends!
Thank you Brenda for this sweet award! This is a bit late, she gave me this award weeks ago. Sorry it took so long to acknowledge Brenda!
“These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”
Now how did she know I LOVE blueberries! They are blueberries right?! Anyway this is how this award works:
The rules of this award are to choose 5-10 blogs that show kindness and sweetness in their entries. So now I have to choose some more of my lovely friends to give this too! I think because of time I will choose just 5, but there are so many that I would count as sweet and fun to visit with.

If not for God........
In the case of these shootings, what brings a person to that point? What was missing? Was it the way they were raised? Was it something medical? Was it despair? What?!
It's moments like this, where I see all of these and feel so sad. How far we have moved away from God. We as a society have taken God out of everything. We don't want to be reminded of our sinfulness! We don't want someone else to impose on us their religion! So to make everyone else O.K. we don't mention Him. The world is perishing around us for lack of God! The world is filled with sadness and despair. There is war and rumors of war, sickness, natural disasters, and disasters brought on by man's greed. I am reminded of the saying:
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,
They are new every morning;
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Daffodils!
Marsha had this poem on her blog the other day and I just needed to post it here, enjoy:
I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
Along the margin of a bay:
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
In such a jocund company:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
Which is the bliss of solitude;
By William Wordsworth (1770-1850).
Flowers appear on the earth;

A Wonderful God-Filled Weekend!
My wacky friend Deanna! This retreat just would not have been the same without her! We've retreated together many years now! She gives wonderful hand massages!!!Here's our little group. It's good to see I'm not the only one in the family that blinks in pictures! We were part of a larger group, I just never got us all together! To busy enjoying myself!Sue thanks for listening to God and putting this on!
Oh how could I forget! We also raised money and brought down goodies to be put in bags to give to women in crisis! With the money and goodies they were able to fill 100 bags and still had $500 left over to give the Crisis Center! God is so Good!

Biggest Loser - Week 9 - Temptation
This week the devotion that hit me was called "The Nature of Temptation". Alot of what the author mentioned in there I already knew, but it is so good to be reminded over and over again, because even though we may have heard it before it can so easily be forgotten.
One verse she used was James 4:7 " Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
It is in submission that we have the strength to resist temptation. When speaking of the sin of Adam and Eve the author wrote this about temptation. "Keep in mind the temptation itself did not lead to the fall of mankind - yielding to it did.
How many times have I yielded?!!! How many times have I not claimed the power that I possess through Christ! To many to count, but praise be to God I don't need to count them! Christ has paid the price for me, and I am forgiven! I must continue to submit to Him! I will not let the devil get a foothold here. I know he knows my weaknesses, but he also knows who I have put my faith in!
So I continue on!
