Living Well Wednesday!

I continue my journey! I thought I was doing better, but the scale doesn't show it! I need to keep on keeping on! This wonderful old song has been on my heart all week. The group Selah sings it so well, it just touches my heart today because I can get discouraged, but I will not be defeated because God will give me victory!
Why do I feel discouraged
Why do the shadows come
And why does my heart feel lonely
And long for heaven and home
When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow
And i know He watches me
Chorus:So I sing because I’m happy
And I sing because I’m free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me
So I sing because I’m happy
And I sing because I’m free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches
And I know He watches
And I know He watches me

Deuteronomy 31:8 says:
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
Romans 8:1-3 says:
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man
Deuteronomy 30:4 says:
For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory."
Psalms 108:13 says:
With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.
Just a small sampling of encouraging verses! I choose today to believe God! I will not be discouraged for Jesus is my PORTION!

Good morning, Kimberly! Thank you for those encouraging verses and the lovely song. I love this arrangement, too. It's hard to beat Selah.
For me, once I gave up being a slave to the scale I stopped being discouraged. It's merely one of the measures of success I'm using. If after a month I don't see it budge at all I readjust my plan. Maybe you want to readjust quicker than I do.
Have a blessed day.

Kim, I love your post today. I copied a couple of the verses down in my journal. It is easy to get discouraged when you know you've been depriving yourself of food but do not see the result on the scale. One reason not to weigh too often, check out the way your clothes are fitting, see if that shows progress. The scale can sometimes be your enemy, causing a setback in your motivation. Also, if we limit our intake too much, our bodies will hold on to the fat as a protection against starvation. Moderation is the key. Just keep on keeping on and you will have the victory!! Until next week,
Mama Bear

That is great-Jesus is our portion-that should be enough.

Good for you for not giving up. It's so hard when the scale doesn't show the progress you are hoping for. I bet you're losing inches though!!

I love your post today! The scriptures are just what I needed to hear and you saying that you know you're making progress even if the scale isn't showing it. I feel the same way!

Thanks!!
You're an encouragement to me.

Thank you for those encouraging verses. I know it is so easy to get discouraged- but thank you for reminding me to keep focusing on God's word and as we keep choosing to live well- with God's help- and he will see this through in us.

Such a gorgeous, encouraging song by Selah. (This is a neat music player! Maybe I'll use it sometime on my blog too.)

Be ye encouraged, Kimberly. You are His Beloved...

awesome...

and why is it that because there is no condemnation.. we are the worst to condemn each other??????

Jesus was ALL love....God is Love...

so would it be the reason we turn people off?? because we condemn??

great thought...

btw.. I cried like a baby when my patient died...when I tried to tell my husband, i cried hysterically...I always cross boundaries...I love my patients and their families... they are HIS children... my brothers and sisters in Christ...

love ya sister

Selah is great! You are great! Keep positive on the weight. I am working out at snapfitness in town and I love it. I kept thinking after four weeks that I was not losing. Well, I lost four pounds now after four weeks (which is not a lot) but I have lost 13.5 inches all around. So, the inches come. The muscles have to build up so when the muscles get stronger, that takes over and kicks in the metablolism and then the weight comes. Keep pressing on!

Kim- I want to join with you on your scale journey. :0)

I recently realized that God should be glorified in ALL areas of my life and my body is the one I usually withhold as it has always been a struggle for me not to eat whatever and whenever I wanted...

Two weeks ago I made it a point to remember the Lord in my eating as well.

I would love to walk this walk with you friend. Now you can know that you are not alone in this and that there is someone else committed to allowig God to reveal Himself EVEN in His temple. :0)

LOVE YOUR BLOG BY THE WAY!!!

My scale isn't looking to good either. We just have to keep going - a little at a time.
