Welcome to another installment of looking back and seeing God's faithfulness over this last week! It is so good to be able to do this each week, seeing God in the big and the small things! This morning before I read Galatians 3 I prayed that God would help me to understand this book! I don't know about the rest of you, but Paul's letters are hard to follow! You need to just about take it sentence by sentence! There is so many wonderful things that he teaches us through his letters though that I want to make sure I fully understand. Well God showed me a verse I needed right of the bat! For those of you that commented on my Living Well post yesterday, I am so grateful for your encouragement! That is one of the things I am thankful for this week! The accountability and encouragement I receive, not only from women in blogland, but the wonderful women at church who do the same thing for me! I so appreciate the support! Anyway this is the verse God gave me this morning:
Galatians 3:3
Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?
I do not, nor can I do anything in my own strength! I need to rely on God every second! He will give me what I need! I so appreciate those that reminded me of scripture I could turn too! Thank you!
Now other things I am thankful for:
- SUNSHINE AND 50 DEGREE WEATHER!!!!!
- My mom is home from the hospital with a pic line. She needs to be given antibiotics twice a day through that, but she is home, and her doggie and her are happy! (If you would pray for my sister Rachel. She lives with my mom and has the brunt of the work with this pic line. I can't even tell you what to pray, there is so much, but please remember her in your prayers)
- Lessons learned this week by us and our #1 child. It was a hard week of wrong choices, but we worked through them and thank God for patience and eventual understanding!
- Jeremiah had a doctors appointment on Tuesday with his Cardiologist and everything looks good there. He no longer has to take antibiotics before dentist appts and such! He has MVP(Mitro Valve, Prolapse), so he just needs to be checked once a year.
God is so good! Go to Sting my Heart to see what others are Thankful for today!

Kim, you always have a neat thankful Thursday post. I love the part about encouragement. I need that to. I said a prayer for your sister and family. I hope things are going well there today. Have a wonderful TT girl! God Bless you and your family!
Yes - Paul's letters are a wealth of encouragement to the churches at his time, but also for us today. Sometimes it takes me several times to understand a certain passage...
I am so glad to read that your mom is home from the hospital.
I am glad that J's appointment went well and that he only has to check in once a year.
Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.
Be blessed today and always...
Loved your thankful things. I can relate to #3. As someone with a MVP myself, I was thrilled when they came out with the new protocol for dental visits. The antibiotics made me so nauseeous since I can't take penicillin.
Hang in there with all the stuff going on with your mom and your oldest.
Those are some pretty huge things to be thankful for. Enjoy the beautiful weekend weather we're supposed to be getting!
Great news about Jeremiah, I will be praying for your mom, and your sister. I love you my friend.
Praising the Lord with you over receiving a Word right when you needed it! And for your mom being able to be home and son's good news! And, yes, I am home and am glad it is warming up! Thanks!
So glad your Mom is home! Great news. I understand the problems we can sometimes have with our children. Mine are all adults now, but boy that last one was a doosie to get raised!
I'll be praying for Jeremiah as well.
Have a blessed week.
That's a great list of thankful things! I'm happy your Mom is home and I am really enjoying the warmer weather too!
I'm reading one of Paul's letters - the first one to the Corinthians. I am unable to understand what he means a lot of the time, because there is so much history that I haven't learned yet. I tend to misinterpret what the verses mean by inputting my own modern day experiences. So, I usually study the Bible by listening to J. Vernon McGee on his Thru the Bible radio show. He explains the history in detail, sometimes verse by verse. And I sit there listening, nodding, and saying "Oh wow, I didn't know that."
Good news and thanks for sharing. Sickness in the family makes it hard on caregivers, having been there myself I know.
Being a # 1 child is tough on parents as well as them. I was a number 1 child and I had a number 1, I am not sure what was worse!

Kim,
Those are definitely great things to be thankful for!!!
I love sitting and soaking up Paul's words...there is so much in them, around them, and through them, that you do have to take some time to digest it all. But, they are so very filling to the soul.
