God is so good!

Today we all went skating at Rosa Park Circle in downtown G.R. Now I haven't been on skates since Steve and I dated, and before that I was a little girl on the farm. Bekah was very excited about going, and Jeremiah said O.K. Now anyone that knows our family and some of the stuggles we have gone through with our eldest in the way of perfectionism and impulse control may understand when I say I was a little nervous! In the past we would try to have a fun family time and it would end up being very stressful because Jeremiah could not master it right out of the shoot, and become angry and then Steve and I would be all stressed. This usually leaving Bekah losing out on any kind of fun! Now please I hope no one thinks I'm cutting down my boy, I sure am not! We've learned alot of lessons about God's grace through the years!
Anyway it started out really not looking to good for him or for me. I felt like I was never going to find my skating legs. Well I have to tell you, that boy kept at it, he smiled more then he frowned! When we thought about leaving instead of putting money in the meter, he said he didn't want to go yet, he was just getting the hang of it! He never gave up! We were more then proud, we were praising God, and having a great family time! It was such a blessing from God!
And I found my skating legs too!

I'm impressed Kim- If you had been looking for me you would have had to look at the ground!
I've never ice skated before and now I'm too much of a wimp to try.
Good job Jeremiah for perservering-you and Bekah looked great out there.

I'm so glad it went well. Yeah for the both of you for sticking with it. I'm pretty sure I would have been watching from the sidelines!

YEAH!!!!! Praise God indeed!!! I watched your little video...it looks like it was a ton of fun for everyone!!!

(My oldest is a bit obsessive and can be rather uptight at times when he can't master things quickly as well...) ;)

Happy Sunday!

Hi Kim,

I haven't gotten to know you or your family much yet, but the way you described your son I could relate to. My son was like that when he was younger. He has changed over the years and has freedom- I don't understand how he found it...or when...But I know by who and it wasn't me!!
Praising the Lord with you.

I can't imagine standing on that skinny blade. However, I did it as a kid. Our family went rollerskating last year. That was hard enough for me. I did manage to get the hang of it by the time they started playing the YMCA. Boy did that embarrass my kids when I did the hand motions to that song.
