My 8 in 2008 Check up!

Well here it is February 8th! Where did the time go?! Oh I know, I've spent most of that time enjoying Snow Day's here in Michigan! Well let's see how well I have done so far!

To learn to wait on God!
God has been showing me many things in this area this past month. I have had situations where prayers were not answered as quickly as I would hope, but God showed me reasons why, while I waited. I have also become so much more aware of the topic of waiting.
To practice better hospitality!
O.K. here I've had lots of good thoughts, and ideas, but haven't put them to practice yet! The one thing I have done is, at church being more intentional about meeting new people!
To speak truth in love and to stop gossip before it begins!
I haven't had alot of need to do this this month! I think I've done O.K.
To pray for others more. To pray for the savation of my family (extended)
I have done a better job at this. Not to where I want to be yet, but being more intentional towards prayer.
To take better care of God's temple!
As I chew on my Milk Duds I would say I'm not doing to well here! I am coming to realize that part of me does not want to give up those things I like or love for that matter! I also have felt defeat (which I've talked to my DH about), I lose weight only to gain it back. I feel defeated, and that's hard to get up from.
To Study 8 books of the bible!
I am currently studying the book of Acts, with a little Esther thrown in. Next I want to study the books of Nehemiah and Timothy 1 & 2.

To Memorize 8 Verses!
Here are the verses so far God has given me to memorize! I started the month great, and have lost steam, but there is always hope!
Isaiah 26:3; Romans 12:13; Ps 5:3; Ps 27:14; Ps 40:1; Isaiah 30:18
To organize all the closets, bookshelves and storage areas in my house!
Here I have had some success: See below the 3 areas I have tackles and won! You would not believe the stuff that came out of that game closet!

Isn't it cool to see what has happened in the past month. I love the way this process allows us to mark a spot in the sand and say, ahah...we're at least moving forward a bit at a time. Even with the weight issue -- it may not show on the scale, but God is working on your heart...just by being intentional and thinking about what you're doing. Now that is soooo cool! The closets look great, too! I'm inspired!

Thanks for sharing!

Blessings,
Elisa

I think that we can get the things accomplished with His help :). You know, I love chocolate, but should not eat it because my face breaks out like a teenage girl. But do I stay away from chocolate - not all the time *sigh*.
Congratulations on winning the battle with the closets :)

Thank you so much for sharing your up-date with us.

Have a blessed weekend.

I was drawn to the verses you are planning to memorize. Isaiah 26:3 is particularly precious and meaningful to me. I pray it brings you as much peace as it has for me.

Thanks for stopping by---that was a funny post to my Michigan friends since Tokyo hardly ever snows. (we've gotten snow 4 times in 2 weeks)

I really like the 8 in 2008---what a great idea and great accountability too.

Hope you come again. I enjoy making new friends. :)
