Then Signs my Soul Saturday! No Words

I was just over at Linda's blog and she had some very sad news to report! A few weeks ago I blogged about a member of Selah losing their daughter at birth! You can read about it here.
On May 27th Todd's sister Nichol went to check on her baby boy Luke and found he wasn't breathing! Luke died that night, he was only a couple of months old! My heart just breaks for this family! They have suffered so much in such a short amount of time! Linda has the wonderful song "Press On" on her blog with Nichol and Todd singing! This group has always been an inspiration to me and their music touches my heart! Please, please pray for these families as they walk this road!
Here is the song again! It is so fitting! Keep the prize in view!

My Solution to High Gas Prices!!!

Have I ever told you that my husband is a Genius?! Well he is!!!!! With how high gas prices are becoming I decided that this summer if I needed to go to the store or if we went to the library, or anywhere around town I would use my bike! I started looking for baskets on the Internet and they all seemed to be way more then I wanted to spend. In the area of $30 and up! So this past Monday our Memorial Day purchase was a rear bike rack for $17. and a Sterilite container for $4.99

My very handy husband came up with this:

We made it dog worthy, but Champ wasn't thinking it was the best idea and decided to freak out when placed in the box with a hole in the lid! He'll change his tune when he sees us leaving without him this summer!

So go ahead Mr. Opec people, go ahead Mr. Exxon, raise your gas prices, we're ready for ya!

Hey do you have a catchy name I can put on the back?!

Tomorrow is Kam and my Garage Sale! We sure hope it doesn't rain!!!! Need some moolah for our big CA trip this summer!

Other important news! I cannot believe it but I am just 3 posts away from my 200th post! WOW! Trying to come up with an inexpensive but cool give away! Keep checking back!

Thankful Thursday!

It's been a couple of weeks since I've participated in Thankful Thursday! It's not for lack of things to be Thankful for, God has provided plenty! I've just not been able to bring myself to sit long enough at the computer and put thought to paper! But no more! Here is my list of things I am thankful for today:

  • Just one more short week and school will be done!!!! YEAH!!! I can't wait! I love summer and I love having my kids around! Also I don't love making lunches, being on a strick schedule in the morning, homework, etc......

  • The day after school is out we head for the Conference grounds! Another yeah! We had so much fun there last year! It is right on the shores of Lake Michigan, they have a pool! Also Bible School for the kids and Bible study for me! Steve will work all week and come out at night. We usually know quite a few people and it's close enough that friends can come visit. So if you live in the area and are out in Grand Haven, spot of by to lot #66!

  • I'm thankful for the weekend Kam and I had last weekend! I didn't blog about it, but we had a very relaxing time in Traverse City! That city has so much to offer!

  • I am thankful for the prayer warrior's I have praying for me right now! I can sure feel their prayers, and I know that God will bring an answer in His time! Thanks for praying for me guys!

  • I'm thankful that the weather is slllooowwllyy getting warmer! Of course I just stepped outside to help Steve with the pool cover and it's a gettin' chilly again! Michigan is so fickle, but I love her!

  • I'm thankful that when Bekah didn't get off the bus at our house that she got off at Samantha's and was safe!

  • Speaking of above! The pool is open and the green is disappearing! Looking forward to alot of fun times around the pool this summer!

  • I'm thankful for my faithful bloggy friends, who have encouraged me the past few weeks! Completely understanding my need for down time! I do love having met all you ladies and so enjoy getting to know you better!

  • I have been studying Philippians this past week! What an awesomely encouraging book that Paul wrote! Have you read it lately? I will end with some verses from there!

  • Philippians 1: 3-6

  • I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

  • 1:9-11

  • And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

  • Be sure to check out the other ladies who are thankful at Sting my Heart!

Memorial Golf Outing Fun!!!

Yesterday was Debi and Tyler's (the friend I mentioned earlier this week) anniversary! They used to go golfing on their anniversary so a bunch of women got together to take Debi golfing! We had shirts made up that said "Tyler Damron Memorial Golf Outing" on the front and "Elvis has left the building" on the back! She was surprised by the shirts! We had alot of fun! Some people said I was a bad golf cart driver, but who would believe that! Here are some pics of the day! Who knows maybe this will become an annual golf outing, just be watching!

Autumn, Debi and Amy

This isn't everyone! Some of them had to leave early!

Bekah's School Program

Last night we went to Bekah's school program. It was great because Aunt Sandy, Samantha, Erica and Lauren got to come. Here is just a quick picture and video of the night! The kids did a great job singing and playing their recorders! The only down side was all the songs to me had a humanist bent. It's all about what I can do. I heard that word alot "I", "ME"! My husband told me to breathe! There is so much out there that us parents have to speak out against and help our children to know it's not what's in me that makes me good, but WHO! Anyway I would never say anything to Bekah about it! I just complimented her on her wonderful job! Also Jeremiah made the Principals list for the 2nd time this year! He's very proud of that, and so are we!

In Memory of.....

Don't know if I'm officially back or not, but I couldn't let this day go by without remembering our dear friend Tyler who God took home one year ago today! In life and death he touched many! I miss you Tyler! You will always be that infectious 44 year old - 8 year old to me! Thank you for being so passionate about your Lord and for teaching me to go to the Word always!
With Debi's permission I want to share the following that Tyler's brother shared at his funeral. This is so Tyler! For those of you who didn't know him, hopefully this will make you laugh and see why we can smile when we think of this "LARGER THEN LIFE" personality!
Tyler is so happy that his funeral was 2 hours long. He would have wanted it much longer though. In fact, he would prefer that we continued it on into the evening and then followed it up by an "All Tyler Weekend" with a Parade and a Float contest. Tyler I miss you and I'm so proud of where your heart and soul were at during your last days here. God needs you as an Angel to look over a multitude now and not just a few. Your with me always buddy.
Tyler Trivia:
* Favorite Singer: Himself
* Favorite pastime: Going to the Gun show (his own bi-ceps)
* Total poundage of weights in Tyler's World Gym? Thousands!
*Where would he go for a pick-me-up? Any place with a Karaoke.
*What where his 3 favorite lines?
1. Are you going to eat that?
2. What are you going to do with that?
3. Can I have that?
* He once ate how many Big Macs? 6
* He & Bart once bought what animal on vacation in Florida? A Skunk
* T or F - both his (older) brother and cousin once shot him with BB guns? True
* T or F - Tyler liked to Arm Wrestle? True
* How many jobs did Tyler have? 37
- That's how he reached so many people in his short time.

Time off and Prayer Requests!

Feeling like I need to take a break for a little bit from blogging! I am taking a much needed rest this weekend (hopefully) to TC for my sister! Looking forward to relaxing and not having a schedule! Life is coming down hard right now, and I feel I just need to chill and spend more time in the Word!

Before I go a few prayer requests if you don't mind:

Pray for Jeremiah (again) - he got in trouble today in school. It always seems like we have issues close to school being out, I don't know, just pray for him and wisdom for Steve and I.

I also just saw in the Obituaries that the daughter of a girl I went to school with passed away this weekend! She is the cousin of a good friend so I called her to find out what happened! This dear sweet child was 23 and a mother of 2. Because of choices she made she did not feel able to deal with life, so she took hers! My heart is breaking for her, that she got so bad, and didn't feel the comfort of the Saviour who loves her, that she thought it just wasn't worth living! Pray for her mom and dad, siblings and all relatives involved! Pray for all our young people who don't feel life is worth living!

Lastly pray for clarity for me! I hope to be back after TC, we'll see! (Sorry Judy!)
Psalm 143
A psalm of David.
1 O LORD, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief.
2 Do not bring your servant into judgment,
for no one living is righteous before you.
3 The enemy pursues me,
he crushes me to the ground;
he makes me dwell in darkness
like those long dead.
4 So my spirit grows faint within me;
my heart within me is dismayed.
5 I remember the days of long ago;
I meditate on all your works
and consider what your hands have done.
6 I spread out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.
Selah
7 Answer me quickly, O LORD;
my spirit fails.
Do not hide your face from me
or I will be like those who go down to the pit.
8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.
9 Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD,
for I hide myself in you.
10 Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God;
may your good Spirit
lead me on level ground.
11 For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life;
in your righteousness,
bring me out of trouble.
12 In your unfailing love, silence my enemies;
destroy all my foes,
for I am your servant.

Busy week over! Lesson Learned!

Hello all! I did not have time to post this weekend due to the wedding and yesterday was Mother's day and after a visit to my mom, I just laid on the couch, chillin'. So much to report, some with (if I may say) adorable pictures of a little princess!

1st off Jeremiah made if through 5th grade camp with flying colors! Thanks so much for your prayers! I told Steve I had ladies all over the country praying for him! That is so cool! His teacher came up to me immediately and told me he did awesome (her words)! When he came up to me the bottom of his pant legs were black, one of his shows was completely black (they started out white). I didn't think they could be saved, but we washed them last night and it looks like their making a comeback! My son ever looking for the gray cloud in the silver lining came up and said "We had the worst cabin of everyone!" Then he proceeded to tell me "Good luck getting me on that plane in July! I didn't do well at the Mid-ropes course because of my fear of heights, so I'm not getting on the Plane!" Well hello to you too, my dear sweet first born! I've missed you tremendously!!! He did have a great time though. It was funny to see his face because he did look exhausted! I had to wait to really speak to him about his weekend until after his friend Nat left. When they walked in the door they immediately went for the computer (you know it had been 3 days without it)!

Now for the big doings this weekend! Friday night we had rehearsal. Bekah and Kaelee where troopers and were really enjoying themselves! I had to step out of the sanctuary for a little while because I tend to want to direct and I didn't think that was my place! I kept wanted to tell people "slow down, we're not in a race"! Well they all did really well on Saturday, so my assistance was not needed! Bekah had her hair done at Dawn's at 9:00 on Saturday! Dawn did an awesome job on her hair! She is a very talented lady that Niece of mine! Then off to the church where we arrived right at 10:30. Now for the big sit and wait for pictures to begin! I brought snacks for the wedding party which they all really appreciated! It was fun to help. Bekah made herself a pair of balloon flip flops while she waited that she got to wear at the receptions. Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure, then about my lesson! I think you can click on them to make them bigger, if you want!

Our Little Princess!

The 2 Princesses watching the Bride and Groom Dance! Do you wonder what they are thinking about?

Oh this picture made me cry! To see Roger (Steve's Brother) and Tara dancing the Father/Daughter dance was just precious! Roger is not Tara's biological father, but has raised her since she was two! They have a wonderful Father/Daughter relationship!

Two twirling Princesses'!

A picture of the future! I love how she is looking at me and Steve is looking at her!

A little bit of attitude!

Steve changed this one to black and white! I love how it turned out! It was great that Bekah and Kaelee had each other for support! They were both nervous, but both did an awesome job! I didn't realize it until Sunday, but Bekah doesn't do well being the center of attention! She wore her dress to church, but when we got there acted a little strange. I finally got it out of her that she didn't want to wear her dress (that would have been nice to know as we were putting it on) to church. Fortunately I had the clothes still in the van from the day before (you see there is a reason I don't clean my van well) so she got to change. Steve got out of her that she didn't like all the attention. I really think it help on Saturday having everyone being so dress up!

Finally for the lesson this lady learned! When you are 43 almost 44 it is not the best idea to dance to Bob Segers "Ole time Rock and Roll", do the bird dance and the Hokey Pokey! Your bad hip tends to tell you "What are you thinkin'? You're 43, overweight and out of shape! Leave the dancing to the cute little girls and the bridal party!" Oh yeah! I should have listened!!! All in all we had a great time!! The minister did a great job on the sermon! I wanted to say AMEN, but didn't think it would be appropriate at a wedding! We wish the best for Tara and Chad. We pray that God will indeed be the head of their home someday soon! Right now we can't say that, but God can do all things!

I was finally able to relax yesterday at 4:30 pm! It was a crazy morning! I planned on not going to Sunday School to chill before going to my mothers, but a sick teacher made me have other plans! When I was at my mom's I was very tired because I did not sleep well the night before (not because we were out late, we got home at 8:30), but just because I guess! My family all tends to talk at once and for some reason the noise just really bothered me. When we got home, my family graciously left me to be on the couch, and I was able to relax! I hope you all had a happy Mother's day too!!

It's a Busy Friday!

Not alot of time to blog today! Tomorrow Steve's niece is getting married and I said I would make salads for tonight and snacks for the wedding party tomorrow! Also working on cleaning the house before picking up the boy from Camp! HE MADE IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!!!! Thanks so much for the prayers! I can't wait to hear how it went from his very own lips!!!! Tomorrow will be busy to so I'm thinking Super Word Saturday is a goner for this week! I have to have Bekah to Dawn's by 9:00 am to have her hair done (she is a flower girl in the wedding). Then to the church by 10:30! I'm thinking I'll shower and put makeup on here then get dressed there (I'm mean fancy like!)

I am in a David Crowder State of Mind right now so Here is one of my favorite songs of his, ENJOY!!!!

Oh My Goodness, it's the 8th of the Month!

I can't believe it is May 8th today! I just saw that Elisa posted her next installment of Living Intentionally - My 8 in 2008! Oh good grief I am not prepared! Not the best month so far, but we keep on keeping on!

1. To learn to wait on God
This is a process that is ongoing in my Christian walk. The Lord is showing me much and I am happy with my progress.

2. To practice better hospitality
I am more mindful of my surroundings and being more in touch with people, that's good. I still have yet to make it to the nursing home with Bekah!

3. To speak truth in love and to stop gossip before it begins
Hummm..... I don't feel I'm doing very well here. Confrontation, even constructive is very hard for me.

4. To pray for others more. To pray for the salvation of my family (extended)
Haven't done well here either!

5. To take better care of God's temple
On this one, I am improving, thanks to being held accountable every Wednesday on Living Well Wednesday!

6. To study 8 books of the Bible7. To memorize 8 verses
Still concentrating on the verses I need to learn for Evangelism Explosion, but the Lord is showing me other verses to add to my list!

8. To organize all the closets, bookshelves and storage areas in my house.
If my sister and I had had our Garage sale when we planned, by storage room downstairs would be cleaned and organized. As of this moment because the garage sale is on the 23rd of May, but whole basement is a PIT!!!
That is it, no excuses! Onward and upward! See you in June!!! Check out the other ladies who are desiring to Live Intentional in 2008 over at Extravagant Grace!

Thankful Thursday!

Today is Thursday and a time to reflect on all I have to be thankful for looking back over my week! Iris' word for the day is Honesty. I so desire to be more honest in my relationships. I do find it hard because I don't think I ever learned the tool of constructive conversations. There have been times in my past where God has compelled me to speak, oh so against my will, but for the good of someone I loved dearly! Why is it that we struggle so much for this issue? Is it because our hearts are not bent toward honesty, but dishonesty? Do people honestly desire to hear the truth? This is something that I struggle with because we are called to speak honestly to each other. Colossians 3:15-17 says:
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
I truly desire honesty in myself and my friends and family. I pray that God will continue to grow in me the desire and courage to speak when he calls me to speak. Not to condemn someone, but to restore. That being said here is what I am thankful for this week:
  • I'm thankful for God's word and how it is living and the best instruction manual that anyone could have.
  • I'm thankful for those who have been honest with me even though it was hard. Please keep it up and continue to hold me accountable. By doing so you are helping mold me into the servant God wants me to be.
  • I'm thankful for the ladies at Living Well who I am accountable to every week! It is helping!
  • I'm thankful that Jeremiah got of to camp O.K. yesterday and that I have so many wonderful people praying for him and us. Day 2 is upon us today!
  • I'm thankful for the beautiful green of Spring! I think the leaves grow overnight in secret to surprise us in the morning!
  • I'm thankful for my faithful and loving husband who I can laugh with over the silliest things! We are a weird family, but we love each other and "weird is as weird does"!
  • I'm thankful that there are only 4 more weeks of school! YEAH, I can't wait for summer!
  • I'm thankful my sister Sandy is able to come up and spend time with my Mom and her kids and grand kids! I know she misses them bunches!
  • As I look toward Mother's Day I am so thankful he made me a mother! There was a time when I didn't think I would ever be one, or that I would make a good mother! By God's grace alone I think I am doing O.K.!

Have an awesome week! I pray that God will continue to bless you and keep you! That he will make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you!

Living Well Wednesday!

Welcome to another installment of my Living Well Journey! I am feeling pretty good this week about my choices. I have taken small steps that I feel good about! I have added more water into my day! I know that is important! I have to constantly remind myself to drink it though. My two favorite drinks in the world are my coffee from Speedway (which includes a top off of cappuccino) and my fountain pops! This past week I have limited both of these! Boy it is hard because I enjoy them so much!

Steve and I haven't been walking lately, and I must admit I use him as an excuse not to. I know "bad me". He wants me to check out the local Contours. I used to go to the Curves here in town, and really don't want to go back to that, but Steve's company pays for half and I do need to be held accountable. When money is involved that is my accountability. So one of these weeks you may hear about me joining! One of these weeks!

Yesterday I was writing 2 Corinthians 10:5 in my Journal and as I continued to read I found these verses that inspired me, maybe they will do this same for you:

2 Corinthians 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

2 Corinthians 10:6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

These verses show me the power that is mine in Christ Jesus! Keeping my focus on him and not my situations! Also it shows me never read a verse out of context! Always read what comes before and after to give you the full meaning!

Have a great week ladies! Find more support at CWO - Living Well!

All Flimits!

I just thought I would share with you what my daughter thinks is Off Limits! This is what she thought people were saying when they said the above, so she put it on her bedroom door!

Prayer request: Tomorrow Jeremiah goes to 5th grade camp. Please pray for him to be able to work through his issues, to listen to the teacher's, counselors, and cabin parents! To try even though things seem hard, and to have fun with his friends. As a mom of a boy with impulse control issues this is one of those times where I am giving my fear to God! I can't be there to help the situation. I realize that I need to allow him to do this himself and that he may have a rough time. One of my biggest fears is that people will not see past his attitude to the real wonderfully hearted boy on the other side! He is a great kid! I fear what other people, including his classmates will do or say to him! He already is starting to be teased by alot of kids at school! Thank you for your prayers! He is gone Wednesday through Friday!

Marriage Monday! The crazy way we meet!

1st Monday Every Month at Chrysalis
Want this button?

Today I am joining in with other ladies for Marriage Monday over at Chrysalis ! I love to tell the story of of Steve and I met, so set back and prepare to either be amazed or bored!

I was 29 years old, thinking I probably would never meet the right guy! I had just ended a relationship with someone whom I had been seeing off and on for a few years because I knew that God would never honor me with a Godly man unless I was willing to give up what I was holding onto in this man. I had quite a few friends who were in bad marriages and did not want that kind of situation for me. I began to think that marriage really didn't work. My head said it did, but my heart had doubts! I remember going to talk to our pastor about it, and he help me deal with the situation. I had gone on several blind dates. I was always amazed at how people would say we were perfect for each other - (were they blind too?!) My mother thought I was to picky - both her and my sister Rachel thought I should go after BM (not bowel movement, I'm protecting his name!) He was like the only eligible bachelor back at my home church. Praise God he is married now!

So one night when I got home from work, I had a message on my answering machine. It was from a friend who I hadn't heard from in years, because one of my ex-boyfriends was her husbands best friend. Anyway she called me to invite me to do something with the singles group that she was involved in at her church. You say how can you be married and go to a singles group. Well she was now divorced. It seemed that my friends would call me after they were divorced or at least separated! Anyway I called her back and we went to dinner, then I met her at the movies where the rest of the group was meeting up. She pointed to Steve and said she would like to set us up! I politely declined since my past history with blind dates was so great!

The next time I was to meet her at the movies, she was late, but I saw Steve and his friend Mike. We chatted a little then I sat next to them in the movie. Afterwards we went to a local restaurant. I sat next to Steve, Marilyn sat next to Mike. They started dating right away and are now married too! It took Steve a bit longer to ask me out! This was in April, we didn't go out until June! I remember him calling me the first time! I had my friends Becky and Joanne over. When the phone rang and it was Steve, they both moved from opposite ends of the couch to the middle and clapped!

Our first date was to a restaurant then we were supposed to go bike riding, but it rained cats and dogs! I remember being in the restaurant and being so comfortable talking to him. That really was the first time that ever happened! I remember the first time he kissed me, that was in the rain too!

I remember when I knew that I loved him! I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Steve is God's man for me! He is just everything I need to keep me grounded! He is so loyal and calm! He is a wonderful provider, husband, father, friend (he is my very, very best friend), and lover! I love him more today then I did then! It's so amazing how God brought us together!
I had all these plans of who I would marry, and when I would marry! God knew best! I don't know why he didn't allow the other relationships to pan out, I'm just so glad he did! My life now is so much more rich, because I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am in God's planned marriage!

I got a little long here didn't? Sorry, like I said I love to talk about it!

Super Word Saturday!

Jeremiah's Word - Incipient - beginning to come into being or to become apparent

Jeremiah's Sentence - In the 1st chapter of Genesis the world was incipient.

My Verse - Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Bekah's Word - Pea Aphid - a widely distributed aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) that is a serious pest on legumes (as alfalfa, pea, and clover)

Bekah's Sentence - All bugs are Pea Aphids to me!

My Verse - Deuteronomy 28:38 You will sow much seed in the field but you will harvest little, because locusts will devour it.

Have a great Saturday!

Kim Jeremiah and Bekah!

God Moments! Big or small!

In my post from Wednesday I lamented about not knowing God's will! What does he want me to do! What is His plan for my life? Am I where I am supposed to be? I craved a "God Moment"! You know the one - that MOUNTAINTOP experience - where we have been put in the cleft of the rock and get to see God's back! Where our face is glowing like Moses' because we were in His presence! Those times are like a narcotic! You so desire them! Well look at what I read out of Oswald Chambers - My Utmost for His Highest for May 1st -

INSIGHT NOT EMOTION
"I have to lead my life in faith, without seeing Him." 2 Corinthians 5:7 (MOFFATT)
For a time we are conscious of God's attentions, then, when God begins to use us in His enterprises, we take on a pathetic look and talk of the trials and the difficulties, and all the time God is trying to make us do our duty as obscure people. None of us would be obscure spiritually if we could help it. Can we do our duty when God has shut up heaven? Some of us always want to be illuminated saints with golden babes and the flush of inspiration, and to have the saints of God dealing with us all the time. A gilt-edged saint is no good, he is abnormal, unfit for daily life, and altogether unlike God. We are here as men and women, not as half-fledged angels, to do the work of the world, and to do it with an infinitely greater power to stand the turmoil because we have been born from above.
If we try to re-introduce the rare moments of inspiration, it is a sign that it is not God we want. We are making a fetish of the moments when God did come and speak, and insisting that He must do it again; whereas what God wants us to do is to "walk by faith." How many of us have laid ourselves by, as it were, and said - "I cannot do any more until God appears to me." He never will, and without any inspiration, without any sudden touch of God, we will have to get up. Then comes the surprise - "Why, He was there all the time, and I never knew it!"
Never live for the rare moments, they are surprises. God will give us touches of inspiration when He sees we are not in danger of being led away by them. We must never make our moments of inspiration our standard; our standard is our duty.

I laughed right our loud! Oops, was I desiring the feeling more then Him?! God is in every moment, not just the mountaintop experiences! He is with me when I do what would seem to be the mundane things of life. He is in the moments where I need to do things that may seem to be lessor on the kingdom scale! Why do I continually seek God in big ways, and miss the small way's he shows up everyday!

Lord open these blind eyes, unlock these deaf ears! Open the eyes of my heart Lord, I want to see you! Forgive me for wanting to be an illuminated saint, all shining and awesome! Forgive me for missing the little moments with big impact!

Your daughter,

Thankful Thursday!

Well I missed last weeks Thankful Thursday! Not that I didn't have anything to be thankful for, just incredibly busy and didn't have time to sit back think on my week, write and read all the wonderful posts from other Thankful ladies! I am one that needs my routine, and I love being accountable to others so I need to get my Thankful Thursday post in this week! Here goes:

  • I am thankful that God provides for our needs all the time! Even when things are tight we always manage to have just enough to make it, and then occasionally he blesses us with just a little extra!

  • I am thankful for my husbands job. Here in Michigan things are so incredibly bad in the job and housing market. Steve has been busy at work and as of yet his job is stable. His brother as well as so many other's are out of work. Never take things like your husbands job for granted. Also don't take them for granted which I tend to do sometimes. Our husbands are more then not the major source of income in our homes. They have a great deal of pressure on them to keep their jobs. When their jobs are taken from them when it's no fault of their own they take such a hit! Go give your husband a big hug and tell him of grateful you are for him and the way he provides for your family! I will when Steve get's home from Traverse City! He has been gone 3 times in the last 3 weeks. First to Pittsburgh, then Petoskey now Traverse City! But there again God is providing extra money to help us catch up on our budget.
  • I am thankful for my job! I have flexible hours that help me as a mother, and I love that I am making a difference for Christ in the lives of children!
  • I am thankful that things have gone well without Steve here! I am one of those wife's that really likes having her husband around, and I don't think I do very well with him gone, so I am thankful that he is praying for us while he's gone and we've been a great team! I also know there are others of you that have had your spouses gone for much longer and know I have nothing to complain about!
  • I am thankful for friends that give me good sound advice. That point me to Christ, and what he says when I am feeling down or attacked!
  • I am thankful that my mother had her PIC line taken out and that she is feeling better!

I am already pretty late in the day with this post! Go over to Sting My Heart to see more Thankful Thursday posts!
