My Solution to High Gas Prices!!!

Have I ever told you that my husband is a Genius?! Well he is!!!!! With how high gas prices are becoming I decided that this summer if I needed to go to the store or if we went to the library, or anywhere around town I would use my bike! I started looking for baskets on the Internet and they all seemed to be way more then I wanted to spend. In the area of $30 and up! So this past Monday our Memorial Day purchase was a rear bike rack for $17. and a Sterilite container for $4.99

My very handy husband came up with this:

We made it dog worthy, but Champ wasn't thinking it was the best idea and decided to freak out when placed in the box with a hole in the lid! He'll change his tune when he sees us leaving without him this summer!

So go ahead Mr. Opec people, go ahead Mr. Exxon, raise your gas prices, we're ready for ya!

Hey do you have a catchy name I can put on the back?!

Tomorrow is Kam and my Garage Sale! We sure hope it doesn't rain!!!! Need some moolah for our big CA trip this summer!

Other important news! I cannot believe it but I am just 3 posts away from my 200th post! WOW! Trying to come up with an inexpensive but cool give away! Keep checking back!

I love the new bike thing!! Your husband has a great imagination. I am about ready to start riding my bike again also. These gas prices, "going through the roof" is not easy on the wallet! I can't think of a good name but love the pictures. Can't wait for your 200 post!! I will definitely be checking back. Thanks for a great post!!

I always suspected Steve was a bit of a genius! Now there is proof. It is a good idea and you'll get exercise at the same time! Hope the garage sale goes well and the weather stay clear!

Great idea!!! Maybe this is God's way of getting you on your bike more... oh! so it's you're fault that the gas prices are so high, huh? :)

Catchy name? what about "Space Shuttle" or "Gas Guzzler" - I'll keep thinking about this (it's not even 6:30 AM yet!!!)

I love it! I wish we lived closer to town. Ask Steve to put in a couple "doggie windows" in the sides then maybe Champ won't get so nervous about it.
Smiles!

That's super and it will be good exercise, too. The last time I tried riding a bike, it didn't go too well. I've lost my coordination.

It would be cute to see a picture of Champ in the basket...hint, hint!

You must live in a much quieter place than I do. And buy much less milk!! :-)

Wow, 200 posts! Can't wait to see your milestone!

You could make several trips to the store if you need a bunch of stuff. Or have everyone go and put a basket on their bike too. Well, if you chose plastic bags you could put one on each handlebar too.

Something along Harley Davidson lines maybe. wild hog not sure!
