SNOW DAY!!!!!

O.K., it's Tuesday. A day I have chosen to work at my job outside the home. Hummmm..... it snowed oh, about 6-8 inches last night. Guess what, NO SCHOOL! Now I really find it fascinating how God always covers us with a big blanket of white just before a day I work. Could he be telling this mother something? I always wonder. Don't get me wrong, I really love snow days, I just wish they would come on Monday, Wednesday or Friday!
Anyway I was up at 1:41 last night. Came to the computer for a little while, then got into the Word. I am reading in Acts right now. I am so enjoying it. I thought I would write about what God showed me in Act's 6 today:
It is where we are first introduced to Stephen. It seems a disagreement of sorts broke out in the new church (does that sound familiar). Anyway the apostles knowing they shouldn't neglect the ministry of the word to "wait on tables" (don't you love that), they had the disciples appoint 7 men "who are known to be full of the Spirit and Wisdom". Stephen was one of these men. It is said about him "a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit". So Stephen "a man full of God's grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people". He got busy for Christ! I love that! Well along the way he manages to tick some people off! Opposition arose (sound familiar, it doesn't matter the century). The thing is the couldn't knock holes in his witness, it says "but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke". So they had to make up lies about him, probably misinterpreting his words somehow.
This made me think. I want to be seen as a "woman full of faith and the Holy Spirit". I want to do miraculous things for Christ. I want to have an argument that cannot be refuted. Lastly it says as he faced the Sanhedrin that "his face was like the face of an angel". He was a peace, even in the midst of the trial! I want that too! The thing is I can have all this, if I am "full of the Spirit and wisdom". I just need to remain close to Christ, read His Word faithfully, and be obedient. We can all do and be as Stephen! May today be a new beginning, a fresh start, a WHITE BLANKET OF SNOW!
God Bless you REAL good!

I'm thinking you should lead a Bible Study- I think we have our own version of Beth Moore right in our own church!!

What a great thing to strive for!
PS - when my kids were younger and I worked part time, it seemed snow days fell on my working days too!

Snow day - yippee (for the kids at least). I've often thought that caring for the physical needs of others (i.e. food) takes a person who is rich in the Spirit and in wisdom.
