Why are you downcast O my soul?

Don't you just hate those days, where you have the blahs and there is absolutely no reason that you can think of to have them! I am having one of them today! URGH!!!!! I am blessed beyond measure! I am loved by the King! He is my Father! I am forgiven! Why are you downcast O my soul? Why so distrubed within me? Put your HOPE in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God! A word to me, that I'm sharing with you!

PSALMS 42

As the deer pants for streams of water,

so my soul pants for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

When can I go and meet with God?
3 My tears have been my food

day and night,

while men say to me all day long,

"Where is your God?"
4 These things I remember

as I pour out my soul:

how I used to go with the multitude,

leading the procession to the house of God,

with shouts of joy and thanksgiving

among the festive throng.
5 Why are you downcast, O my soul?

Why so disturbed within me?

Put your hope in God,

for I will yet praise him,

my Savior and 6 my God.

My [c] soul is downcast within me;

therefore I will remember you

from the land of the Jordan,

the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep

in the roar of your waterfalls;

all your waves and breakers

have swept over me.
8 By day the LORD directs his love,

at night his song is with me—

a prayer to the God of my life.
9 I say to God my Rock,

"Why have you forgotten me?

Why must I go about mourning,

oppressed by the enemy?"
10 My bones suffer mortal agony

as my foes taunt me,

saying to me all day long,

"Where is your God?"
11 Why are you downcast, O my soul?

Why so disturbed within me?

Put your hope in God,

for I will yet praise him,

my Savior and my God.

Kim,
I hope it helps to know that there are alot of people that dearly love you! I know I have days like that to- it's frustrating because you're right- we're so blessed.
Tomorrow is a new day- praying it's a great one!

Sorry you are having one of those days - I'm afraid they hit us all from time to time. You are fighting the blahs the right way though!

Aren't the Psalms beautiful? I just love to read when them and mediate. They always give me comfort - especially when my soul is weary.

Be blessed today and always.

That's a good psalm to start the week with - I had a rough day yesterday too. Hope today is better! :)

Kim, thanks for sharing this Psalm. I needed this one today. My soul is downcast and I know it ought not to be.

Thanks for leaving that comment about my new look at EG. Your words were just the cup of encouragement I needed at a really bah-humbug moment.

Blessings,
Elisa

Kim thank you...for your encouraging words that you left me and for posting these truths from the Word of God. How easily I forget that when I put my hope in God I can praise Him in all things for He IS my Savior and my God....

Blessings...
